CryoStar – Cryotherapy Chamber

The CryoStar is our flagship nitrogen cryotherapy chamber – what many buyers simply call a cryosauna. The client stands inside with the head above the rim, breathing normal room air while nitrogen vapor cools the cabin around the body.

It runs on a program from -120°C to -170°C (-184°F to -274°F), making it the coldest chamber in our lineup. Full-session temperatures of -170°C are reached through indirect nitrogen injection rather than direct spray on the skin.

Nitrogen is injected indirectly through platinum nozzles at the center of the chamber instead of being sprayed directly at the body. That design cuts nitrogen consumption to 3 to 5 kg per session and lowers the risk of cold burns compared with direct-spray systems.

The thermovision camera, standard on the Grand configuration, reads skin temperature in real time during the session, a form of thermal imaging cryotherapy monitoring, so the operator can watch how the client’s body responds to the cold and end the session early if needed.

A 10.1 inch touch panel runs three automatic programs plus one manual program, and the door opens automatically by remote or door button so the operator never has to physically wrestle with the chamber during a session. The Grand version adds an oxygen level sensor and a 21 inch top display.

Each session uses roughly 3 to 5 kg of nitrogen, including precooling, which is on the lower end for open head cryotherapy chambers of this size and helps control your ongoing gas expense.

With the door closed it measures 2600 mm in length, 1020 mm in width, and 2315 mm in height, and the open door adds to the length, so it’s the largest footprint in our nitrogen chamber lineup.

It runs on a standard 220V/50Hz or 110V/60Hz supply at 1.5 kW, up to 20A, which is far lighter than our electric chambers since the cooling work is done by the nitrogen rather than a compressor.

Both reach the same -120°C to -170°C range and use the same indirect injection technology, but the CryoStar’s cabin is longer at 2600 mm against 1870 mm on the Antarctica Nitrogen, and its thermal camera comes standard on the Grand build rather than as an add-on option.

Nitrogen whole-body chambers in this class generally sit toward the lower end of the cryotherapy chamber price range compared with electric units, since they carry less compressor hardware.
