REQUIREMENTS FOR ROOM VENTILATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR SAFE USE

A room equipped with a cryotherapy chamber must be equipped with an appropriate ventilation system.

Ventilation

Should be sufficient to maintain oxygen at 19-19.5% (normal atmospheric oxygen concentration). If the room is not large enough to store nitrogen, ventilation is required to allow airflow to escape from the building. This could mean installing vents at the bottom of the cabinet door or installing fans. If the treatment room has windows that open at or below the waist, this may also be sufficient. All nitrogen storage tanks (called cryo cylinders or dewar flasks) are exposed to gas vaporization as a result of heat from the atmosphere. Typically, 1% to 2% of the liquid is converted to gas in 24 hours. When pressurized nitrogen storage tanks are used, the gas vaporized to the atmosphere through a vent valve installed on the tank is not hazardous in a well-ventilated area.

Alarm systems

To enhance safety, it is recommended that all CryoStar operators have an oxygen meter (oxygen level sensor) with an alarm. An alarm will monitor the oxygen level in the treatment room, keeping the room safe. The approximate cost of a 17 conventional oxygen meter (air oxygen level sensor) can be 299-700 USD / EUR depending on the model and can be ordered from MedStarCom or your local nitrogen supplier. The CryoStar Grand has a built-in oxygen sensor located near the top display. Choosing this model will help you save money on purchasing additional accessories.

Access to nitrogen storage tanks

Nitrogen storage tanks should be located near the cryo sauna. The recommended location is near an air vent or window. Avoid heating elements within a 3 meter (10 ‘) radius. Nitrogen tanks must be filled outdoors or delivered by authorized personnel from the nitrogen supplier. MedStarCom strongly recommends that you follow the installation guide, safety instructions, and liquid nitrogen requirements (contact sales for more information). The CryoStar Critical Chamber has a 4 ”(100 mm) ventilation hood that must be connected to a separate or existing ventilation line in the room. The cryo sauna has a built-in active fan that pushes the remaining nitrogen out of the chamber after the procedure. If the client installs a separate ventilation line of 100mm (4 inches), the manufacturer recommends installing an additional active fan that will suck in residual nitrogen from the ventilation outlet of the cryo sauna and blow it through the ventilation duct system to the outside.

Additional precautions

The manufacturer requires special gloves to be worn when disconnecting the hose from the container with nitrogen. Do not touch extremely cold surfaces with any part of the body. Do not inhale nitrogen vapors, the client’s head should not be immersed in cold vapors during cryotherapy.

Does the client need special clothing and accessories during cryotherapy?

Before the cryotherapy session, the client must remove all metal objects that touch the body, since at extremely low temperatures metal can burn the skin. A cryotherapy session should take place with maximum temperature access to open skin; the manufacturer recommends wearing swimming trunks for men and swimwear for women. Also, use protective gloves and shoes made of natural sheep wool and put on a bathrobe after completing the cryotherapy procedure. This accessory for cryotherapy sessions can be purchased from our sales department. In the CryoStar Grand model, a set of accessories such as a bathrobe, gloves and a pair of shoes are included in the package.

MINIMUM ROOM SIZE FOR POSITIONING THE CRYOCAMERA

For the placement of the CryoStar cryotherapy chamber, Manufacturer 2 recommends a room of 9 m2 or 100 m2 sf with ventilation and room oxygen sensor alarm.
